Today started out a little slow...nuthin wrong with that. I made myself some breakfast and did a little sunbathing. I cleaned up my unit and did dishes...just a little domestication there.

My friends and I agreed that we would meet in their bar around 7 p.m., so I headed into town to grab some bottle coozies for my friends at Zorro's. While there I met a couple of gentlemen that were a total blast to talk to. One was 64 and the other 50, both from Michigan. They liked that I was one of the few Conservatives that they've run into from California, and we had a hell of a singsong talking about travel, people, healthcare from Canada versus the US (the 64 year old was originally from Canada and could give his perspective on things), you name it, we talked it.

In the meantime, it looks as though these gentlemen want to fish. My friend arriving tomorrow also wants to fish, but his wife doesn't. They're going out on Monday and wouldn't mind the company so I exchanged numbers and info with them so I could line up my friend as well. SWEET!

After that, I began my walk down the Malecon toward Playa Madeira. I got some great pictures of the setting sun, but I spotted something that was a bit disconcerting. A husband and wife was walking toward me. The wife was about 20 feet ahead of the husband and she didn't think anything of it. It made me sad. If I do finally find the right guy, I don't want to be walking 20 feet ahead of him, especially in a tropical setting like Zihua. I want my hand in his, and for us to be close, talking, taking it all in and capturing the moment.

I also took a picture of the bar I need to visit while I'm here. Love that its on the ocean walk (I mentioned it in a previous blog) and it looked fun. I head across the beach to Aura del Mar and walk the steps to the upper bar to meet my friends. The setting sun was so beautiful. My friends came up and we all ordered a drink. To my surprise, it was Christmas time in February. My friend gave me this beautiful heart shaped jewelry box and inside was these little jewelry bags. I thought, how awesome...they'll protect whatever I put in them. She told me to open them, and inside each one was a set of silver hoop earrings. 3 different sizes! I had to put them in my ears right away! How awesome was that!! I absolutely love them. And, they're comfortable enough to sleep in, so that's good as well.

We headed to the restaurant...what was the name of it? something del Sol. Also on the hill with a view. We sat down and ordered. In the background was a woman singing and playing the guitar. Patricial had such a sultry voice and sang so many songs we knew. She was truly talented entertainment. I think I tipped her twice because she was that good. I shared the caesar salad and ordered the sea food shells...big shells stuffed with different kinds of seafood (shrimp, snapper, etc), spices and cheese. The rice was really good, but the mixed veggies just kind of so so. My friends had the tequila shrimp flambe and the chicken skewers. I think we all pretty much demolished what was on our plates.

All in all the restaurant was great, and I'd go back just to hear that Lady sing! We left the restaurant and went for a short walk to Nardos. They were playing some good rock and roll there, so we got a table and ordered some drinks and ice cream. We had such a blast people watching. There was one woman wearing a hot pink sequined dress, and I wondered why I hadn't thought to pack my own? What was I thinking???

They took me up the back steps and we looked at some cool houses (a couple for sale) and rental properties. Oh to win the Lottery and snap up a couple of those. Dare to dream. We headed back to their place and they loaded me up with the stuff that they weren't taking...including candles and tequila! Do I have great friends or what? I promised to take a picture with the candles and the tequila and send it to them. They head off in the morning, and it was past 11 p.m. so I hugged and made my exit so they could get what little sleep they could before heading out.
Vaya con Dios my friends. Thank you so much for letting me hang with you and sharing with me your perspective of Zihua!
