Il Mare

A mural on the wall across from Las Adelitas restaurant.
Today I laid out on my patio and got some rays.  I pulled the little short mattress out there and was comfortable.  Don't know it's allowed, but that's what I did.  I had a breakfast of radishes, and breakfast tacos.  Yum.  There's always great things at the market.

Tonight I was meeting my friends at their place and then we'd head to the restaurant "Il Mare", an Italian place that received great reviews.  I got there a little early, and headed to the bar and ordered a tequila sunrise.  Little did I know it was 2x1, but that was welcomed because today was another hot, sweaty day.  I just know that there's no way for me to look like a lady after walking to their place.  I'm just one of those chicks that perpetually looks like they've been pulled thru a bush backwards...I know it..the world knows it...I'm not fighting it.

Up walks my friends, and she looks like a refreshing breeze. How the hell does she do that???  I give up.  We hail a cab and head to the restaurant.

We are seated at a table right next tot the edge for a spectacular view. OMG, I just couldn't stop taking pictures.  We order wine and appetizers and they're absolutely delicious.  I decide on the Salmon Farfalle, with both fresh salmon and smoked with a delicious creamy red sauce.  Man oh man, did I make a great choice.  This stuff was to die for!  With a glass of Cab, I was in heaven.  I try and stay away from pasta, so to enjoy it on vacation is a real treat and I don't feel the least bit guilty!

We finish dining and decide to walk back to their place for desert.  I get to their room and decide it's too damned hot for the long skirt look and tie my sarong on the half so my legs can get a little air.
While I'm doing that, apparently a large lemur was on the deck and making his way across.  I missed him, but I guess he was huge.

We went downstairs and got a seat on the edge and watched the ocean roll in.  We all ordered different desserts.  I ordered the Creme Brûlée and we all had a glass of Merlot to enjoy it with.  It was a really top night.

I decide to take the ocean path back and begin the walk across the beach.  I gotta say, tonight was one of those nights where the air was not moving.  Walking was like making your way thru a wall of humidity and I was drenched in sweat.  I did locate a cool bar in the middle of the walk that I may have to check out while I'm here.  We'll see.

There are a couple of spots on the walk where the lights don't work and it's dark.  I guess something could happen to me, but I have my tactical knife at the ready.  It doesn't hurt to be cautious, but I didn't run into any trouble and soon made it back to El Centro.  At this point, I decide to take a cab, cuz i'm just too sticky...UGH.  I tell the cab driver where to go, and I don't pay attention to his direction until it's too late.  He's on the cobblestone street that I walk to get to down.  Basically, he drops me off at the foot of the stone steps leading up to the resort.  REALLY?  I was kinda hoping to avoid that climb.  Obviously God wants me to exercise, and I am not one to argue with him.  So, after telling the cab driver that my resort is up the hill and he made a mistake, I pay him and get out.  I pull out my trusty pen flashlight and begin the uphill trudge home.

My goodness, the shower never felt so good!!
