Off to Town!

We got up this morning and met in the restaurant for breakfast.  I had the stuffed Chile Poblano (stuffed with scrambled eggs and veggies) smothered in cheese, with a delicious red sauce and some beans; K had the fruit and waffles and R had the burrito!  We then headed back to our respective rooms for a little rest.

The Banamex across the street.
A trusted ATM Place.
I ended up talking to AT&T and found out that my monthly Mexico plan covered me for all texts, 1 GB of data and talking.  However, after looking at what I was shelling out for my normal plan (3 phones, one unlimited data, 1 3GB data and 1 2GB data; 700 Nation rollover minutes, Mexico calling plan, etc = $215 per month plus they were raising it $5 for the unlimited), I ended up switching to the 16GB shared plan with rollover data, unlimited texts and calls and it includes using the plan in Mexico at no additional cost..well, I switched my plan. Should cost me about $150...actually about $137, since I have a 15% discount. Starts on Valentines Day.  Dizzy's got a new vehicle to get, need I say more?

We ended up walking to town, visiting the bank and having lunch at Any's (pronounced OnEEs). K had the chicken tacos, which she said was great.  R had the Arracherra (flank steak), which I had before and it is awesome.  I went more snackish with the beans, and a cheese dish that had mushrooms and chorizo for dipping my chips in.  Love it!!!

Something about the way this
flat screen TV is suspended...
We walked down the cobblestone streets to Zorro's and I introduced them to the gentlemen that I met a couple of days before regarding fishing.  Business settled, we headed for a store for some juice, beer, etc.  and took the cab ride home (70 pesos).

Had a bit of a siesta and then converged on my room to enjoy some more tequila and some beer.  We visited the  onsite restaurant for the happy hour margaritas.  Its a 2x1, but instead of giving you two margaritas, they give you a large margarita with double the tequila.  Hey, I'm good with that.

We made our decision for dinner and decided to walk into town and eat at Daniels which is right on the beach.  OMG, so good.  I've always wanted to try the whole fish dish (red snapper) and this one was 175 Pesos, or $8.60. REALLY?  I got rice (Arroz) and mixed veggies with it and I was one happy chick.  The fish was grilled with garlic, but not overpoweringly so.  It was tender and flaky.  The rice was spiced to perfection.  With the view of the water, the sunset, etc.  It was magical.  I only ate half and brought the rest home for breakfast.

We walked a bit on the town square which was teeming with families, food vendors, and fun.  The basketball court was lined with people and the DJ was doing some kind of musical game.  We were also serenaded by a kid doing karaoke, which was too funny.  This place has a seriously awesome vibe.

We walked back and up the torturous stairs, which was a really good way to work off the meal.  But of course, you get sweaty..so, POOL TIME.  Once again, the moon and the evening didn't disappoint!  Gorgeous!!

We went back to the room because we wanted to keep up with the Oroville Dam situation, and sipped a really good tequila and I headed back to my room.

I know you're wondering what the popcorn picture is all about.  Well, my friend brought her microwave popcorn, but realized that there were no microwaves.  I told her we should try and pop it on my mini grill..Kinda like the ole JiffyPop Popcorn.  She didn't think it could be done.  All I can say is "Where there's a will, there's a way"...as I'm stuffing delicious popcorn in my mouth before bedtime.
