El Mirador Restaurante

So I sunbathed and just took it easy for the first half of the day.  I was also looking of a new used vehicle to take the place of my broken Beast Durango.  Hmm..  Still not sure which way I want to go on this one.

I took a walk down to the Malecon and visited El Mirador, which is directly across from the Municipal Pier.  It's on the second floor, so it caught all of the afternoon breezes.  I had cerveza, along with some chips and salsa.  It was just a kick back place and I had no where to go, so why not enjoy it.

A group of Americans came in from a day of fishing....3 guys and their ladies.  On the TV was the VH1 Classic videos, so every time a singer from the past came on, these chicks were all over it.  You should've heard them squeal over Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven on Earth" and suddenly, they were singing and dancing all over the bar.  Their guys are just looking at each other...knowing there's nothing they can do but ride out the karaoke storm.  I just giggled.

I visited there for about an hour and a half, then I headed to Arturo's place. I got in ahead of the crowd.  I sit there with another couple and realize that they're as conservative as I am.  We're talking guns and reciprocity laws, etc.  It was awesome.  The bar started to fill up and all of us were having a good time.  After a couple of cervezas, I realize that I can feel them and I'd better get some food into my belly.

I ordered the goat cheese, avocado, tomato stack and everyone at the bar is oohing and aahing over my meal.  It is again...to die for!  Fresh, with explosion of flavors and topped with the balsamic reduction...heaven!

I don't want to take too long, so after enjoying that meal with a delicious cucumber margarita, I say my goodbyes and head home.  I have a flashlight to traverse up the long stone stairway, and I'm back at the room around 9 p.m.  A good way to end the day.
